Virginia from Mt. Airy

We spent five days with the parents and sisters in Mechanicsville VA. The first night we went to Pole Green Park to a concert. Ennovation was playing. On Saturday we visited and then attended Easter Mass at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church which was a wonderful and lively service. Easter Sunday we hung out visiting. Monday we went to the Three Lakes Park & Nature Center.  We hiked around the lakes and saw lot's of wildlife. We had a picinic. Tuesday we got to spend time with my older sister. It was a great visit.

Wednesday we headed home staying in Bristol on the way.

Mt. Airy NC, Pilot Mountain SP, Hanging Rock SP

We headed out to Mt. Airy NC on our way to visit the parents in Virginia. We camped at Beechnut Family Campground. It is a family run Christian campground. Very friendly owner and a nery nice clean park. Thursday we headed into Mt. Airy to do our Andy Griffith tour. We swung by the homeplace and then on to the museum. From there we went to Wally's Service station, The Darlins, Ellies Ice Cream, and Mayberry Courthouse. Then we walked the streets of Mt. Airy enjoying lunch at Snappy Lunch. 

After lunch we headed to Pilot Mountain SP and hiked around the Knob. From there we headed to Hanging Rock SP and hiked to a waterfall and then the Hanging Rock trail. We really enjoyed both.
